In honor of being featured in Mississippi Magazine’s 2022 Wedding Register this month, today I am absolutely thrilled to share photos from our wedding reception!
You’ve already seen our wedding ceremony images. Today, I’m so excited to share our reception images with you! Soon, I’ll be sharing our party images, along with details on all of the “party props” we used and our menu! I’m hoping that breaking the night up into these categories makes our wedding easy to follow and enjoy.
My dream was to have a classic, southern wedding reception (with plenty of pops of blue & white!) among a lush outdoor landscape. I also envisioned having a live jazz band (thanks to a lifetime of watching movies like The Parent Trap and Father of the Bride!). My color scheme of blush pink, neutral, blue & white could not have come together without the help of my grandmother “Mimi”. She has the most gorgeous collection of blue & white pieces that I grew up admiring. When I asked her if I could borrow pieces, she simply asked, “Which ones?” with a smile! I’m so grateful that she was willing to share some of her pieces with me. It brings tears to my eyes to think of how special that detail is to me!
The Cedars–Jackson’s oldest surviving residential structure–was the perfect “blank canvas” for my grandmother’s blue willow china collection, beautiful florals, and the outdoor party.
Needless to say, I couldn’t believe how everything came to life so perfectly. It was even better than I imagined throughout all of those months of wedding planning. I’m excited to share pictures with you!
Without further ado, welcome to our wedding reception! Be sure to stick around to the end of the post to get all of the details on our vendors! (And if you want more specifics, please email me!)
Guests were greeted with a cocktail hour – complete with the best Blueberry Lemonade & Charcuterie Board by Sweetlicious catering!
Of course, I had to include Archie in as many ways as I could!
The bride’s cake – chantilly! (I joked that it was Ole Miss’ colors inside!)
The groom’s cake – chocolate mousse that was absolutely divine.
Alex’s attempts to spray champagne like his favorite F1 drivers! These ended up being some of my favorite photos.
